Perils Along the Road Less Traveled
$200
Winner of the 2024 Carolina Competition, 'Perils Along the Road Less Traveled' unfolds as a triptych - a visual narrative of life’s unexpected detours and hidden obstacles. Rendered in monochrome to evoke the texture of a forgotten, unpaved road, the piece invites viewers into a landscape shaped by memory and distortion. A crystal ball, placed atop layers of plastic bags and newsprint, serves as both magnifier and metaphor revealing the barriers that lie ahead while distorting the clarity of the path. Each panel isolates a moment of tension, echoing the psychological terrain of navigating uncertainty with resolve.
